I've had this multi-tool for around a year now and I'm blown-away by how useful it is. With the modular bit drivers, not to mention everything else on this tool, I've found it useful for everything from Disc Golfing to IT (Information Technology (Computers)) work. Usefulness aside, the durability of this product is outstanding. For all these reasons and more, I rarely leave home without this tool; if you are on the fence about whether or not to get this tool, just do it, you won't regret it.

This is a must have for any survival kit. I take it everytime I go into the woods. Along with a small survival pack, a survival knife ( Gerber LMF 11), and some training, anyone should be able to survive in the woods until a rescue team can find you. For anyone going into the woods, I strongly suggest taking a training class on survival. It would save lives every year.

Man, I loved this thing until stupid Polish Airlines bastards took it away from me. After that I felt lost. Only bad thing I can say about it is that when it's in wrench form, the head wiggles from side to side a little. I never found the need to use it one handed. It didn't really work anyway, always got stuck sliding it in and out. I need to get a replacement soon.

The Gerber 600 pro is a great little tool to have with you, With the combination of a Knife, Scissors and Saw Blade it should be able to handle any cutting tasks. The included tools are nice and relatively simple to use, just make it a little bulkier to carry. One of my biggest gripes is that pliers close all the way making it a pain to use for tedious jobs and takes away from the one handed use. There are other Multi Tools out there that are a little better but the price and the lifetime warranty make the Gerber 600 pro a great product and a sure bet for utility on the go.

I've gone thru two of these Dremels. I rarely use them and even then just for short periods. I was cleaning up some fiberglass and after about 10 minutes of use at high RPM it was too hot to hold. I shut it down to cool off and it wouldn't start after that. Replaced the brushes the next day and it ran for about 5 more minutes before it was done. Very useful in its niche, but I'll go with the cheap knockoffs for something that has such a short lifespan.

UPDATE: Given my Dremel wasn't working I disassembled it and found one of the wire leads was not properly connected. I reconnected the lead, blew out the switch and now it runs sweet. The quality looks good. There is no plastic shaft that another reviewer mentions. Shafts are metal. It has ball bearings on each end where cheaper products would probably have bushings.

I bought this dremel to file the nails on my 2 large dogs. It works well for that purpose, assuming the dogs cooperate. My kids have found other uses for the dremel. At this point I don't have a single pencil in my house with an eraser and all of the Sunday cartoon characters are faceless from their dremelling. I imagine this tool would work very well on other tasks as it has a nice variable speed. I just haven't used it for anything other than the dog's nails.

This is a great product that will save the owner much time. It is a must have for anyone that does home/auto repair. I was trying to remove a rusted nut when I bought this product. I had it off in seconds. I can't say enough on how useful this tool is. I gave it only 3 stars because the Dremel 3956 or 3962 are a better value. Both the 3956 and 3962 have a variable speed Dremel instead of just a 2 speed Dremel and the 3956 includes the flexable shaft. The price to go from the 2850D to the 3956 is about $10 and the 3962 less than the 2850D. Still you can't go wrong on any of the Dremels.

I've used this tool mainly for metal works. It's good for those detail works some people face. It's a slow job working with metal but if you have patience it's accomplish what you're working on. I recommend this for anyone. I haven't worked on other material such as plastic but should be easy enough with this tool.

this is a cool little tool. i have used it for a light sanding job and to grind the dogs toenails. worked great for both. not too loud so doesnt scare the dogs. and strong enough to get the thick nails. also used to grind a plexi-glass lid for a terrarium. i have other plans for this handy tool and would reccomend that you try it out. everyone could find a few projects that this would be great for!

We are using this tool to file extra toenail thickness from fungus-infected toenails. It has saved me from this obstinate problem. By removing extra thickness, the toenail is relieved, infection is averted. I had one for 10 years before the motor gave up. I just bought a new more powerful one at the same cost.

I actually love this tool until last month. I used it lightly on various tasks from cutting, grinding, polishing ( very handy for Harley owners BTW ) and even for drilling.

This has been a really handy tool to have being a cordless model until it just decided to QUIT WORKING? turned off while doing some work and it is through, it will not work at all? It had about 3/4 charge and I believe the battery has just come apart inside because it will not charge now either - really weird as it was not dropped or anything I just turned it off and now it is a really expensive paper weight?

I love Dremel products but I think there is a reason this particular model was not out long.
